Grid-based User policy

If you use any of the CAFs you are accepting the following user policies, in addition to the default Fermilab one.

Default Queue Lengths

All CAFs have the same queue lengths, unless it is stated differently.
The default lengths are:
  • short - 6 hours
  • medium - 36 hours
  • long - 72 hours
  • test - For debugging executables. Returns core files.

NamGrid/EuroGrid Queue Lengths

NamGrid and Eurogrid rely on Grid resources provided by others,
as we use their resources we need to follow their rules.
In general, remote sites will set their queue lengths for
a half day, day, etc. At that point, the job would just be killed
and you would not get anything back. So we have set up
our batch system locally to reserve 30 minutes of that period to
transfer files back and clean up. That is the
"minus 30 minutes" bit below.
The current configuration of the queues are:
  • short - 12 hours minus 30 minutes
  • medium - 24 hours minus 30 minutes
  • long - 48 hours minus 30 minutes

Segments limits

  • Segments can use up to 2 GB of memory and 20 GB of disk space

Data Handling: limit of concurrently running sections

  • SAM- 1000 concurrently running sections per job
  • DISKPOOL- 150 concurrently running sections per user (including all jobs)
  • ROOTD- 50 sections per job

Output limits

  • The output locations fcdflnx* are limited to only 10 sections.
